It's been a long time since my last update. Lots of summertime stuff to sidetrack me... but here I am again, with a renewed focus on getting her back on track. I've spent many evenings sitting inside trying to get all the glue and tar paper residue removed. Xylene is some nasty stuff!

This installment also sees the debut of my new 83 parts car. She had a timing belt break while at speed, so that spelled the end of her life on the road. Just not worth fixing unfortunately. As you can see from the photos, it has had some previous off-road excursions as well. However, she's a great score for only $500. I plan to rebuild the motor as a spare, and will also use some of the parts for the track toy, including the manual steering rack unique to the 1983 cars. The rest of the parts will be sold to keep other 944's on the road. From what I've found it has some rare early parts not common to US models, including the euro rear valence and the Porsche door panels.

Anyway, I'm finally getting into the dirty jobs... swapping the water pump and pulling the cam tower. You can see some crappy pics below of my water pump removal, and I'll be pulling the cam this weekend. After that, it's all back together and we're on the road again!
