Alright, well, it's been a while since I've made an update to the build guide. I have been busy doing many things, but I've just wanted to hold off posting anything until, well, now! I've got a track day one week from today and I want to have everything ready. As always, there will be lots of things that I wanted done that aren't, but hey, gotta have something else to work on...

Lots of things coming together in this episode, including the brake system, air intake, windshield, interior, and more. As you can see in several pics, I decided to run a minimal interior. The carpet set doesn't weigh much, perhaps 10 pounds, so I doubt it will slow me down much. Makes it look much nicer since I'll be driving it on the street sometimes. For my first track day I'll be running stock seats and belts. I'm waiting on the custom rollbar still and until that point I won't be able to install the 6 point harnesses. That's fine, should be just a break in day anyway as I learn the new car. I also added some more grippy pedals and a track floormat. Finally, due to the rainy Oregon weather, I decided to move the computer from the passenger floor to the glovebox to avoid any issues with water when the carpet is out.

Mechanically, I've gotten things pretty much ready. Still dealing with some sort of misfire on a couple cylinders. After quite a bit of hassle the car has a new windshield. I've finished the braking system, rebuilding the rear calipers and installing stainless lines and new pads, then bleeding the system using high temp racing fluid. I'm adding a rear sway bar, with adjustable drop links and delrin bushings. For those who don't know, that will help keep the car nicely planted in the corners. Also took out about 5 pounds of dirt that has built up over 20 years. I'll give it a good power washing and detailing once everything is running and it will look pretty good for a 20 year old car.

In the engine bay, I installed a powdercoated intake and fuel rail to get things looking nice. A nice blue silicon vacuum line kit replaces some old brittle plastic lines. As usual, I've spent way too much time cleaning stuff, but it makes working on things much nicer. After almost a year, I've reattached all the front end parts, topping it off with a new badge kit. All belts and hoses in place, engine is all filled up and ready to go. First few starts have been rough (check out that smoky garage), but I'll get it tracked down soon.

The saga isn't over yet though, oh no, not by a long shot. New suspension, racing seats, harnesses, and roll bar. Stay tuned...
